Equipment & Systems For Industry, Inc.

ESI's History

For over 25 years, Equipment and Systems for Industry, Inc. (ESI) has offered engineering expertise along with the finest lines of asphalt, concrete, crushing, and recycling equipment in the industry. ESI represents top of the line equipment providing their customers with a "one-stop shop" to serve all their needs. Whether it’s a spare part, a component, or an entire turnkey system, ESI provides the same high level of support and "rock solid" service.

Machinery At WorkESI of Hopkinton, MA, first opened our doors in the 1980's and introduced a new concept in buying materials processing equipment. ESI's idea dramatically changed the way materials producers do their purchasing and catapulted our firm to top ranking among companies of its type. As recently as the mid-1980's, most producers relied on the manufacturers supplying the equipment to provide the required engineering design as well. This worked for the producer as long as the manufacturer's equipment fit the application. Producers generally weren't able or willing to hire independent engineers to design a plant that might call for various components from different manufacturers to achieve the optimum operation. Furthermore, no manufacturer was likely to specify equipment other than its own. Then along came ESI President Les Bebchick and Denis Roy with a creative solution to this "Catch-22."

Bebchick founded ESI in 1983 and was joined shortly thereafter by Roy. Together, they developed their environmental engineering and equipment business into a firm dedicated to supplying materials producers with not only the equipment they need but also with the necessary engineering expertise. "It was a new concept then but it caught on quickly, and ESI has become the paradigm for this sector of the industry", said Bebchick.

Machinery At WorkOur company can deal with any segment of the industry, from asphalt plant to sand and gravel plant, from rock crushing facility to concrete plant, and supply virtually everything needed – including the engineering. ESI is one of the only firms in the Northeast that in addition to supplying the equipment for producing aggregate, asphalt or concrete, can install the equipment, start it up, and service it. Bebchick credits this capability to the professional caliber of the company's staff which consists of a highly experienced nucleus of people all with engineering or technical backgrounds and hands-on experience working in the industry.

ESI is proud to be a dominant force in the Northeast materials market. We continue to represent Cedarapids, Inc. as our main product line for crushing and screening equipment and hot mix asphalt systems. ESI has been recognized by Cedarapids seven out of the ten years of association for our achievements and this year was awarded Cedarapids' most coveted award as top dealer of the year worldwide.

ESI Adds Earthmoving Equipment

To grow, ESI needed to expand our product lines and decided to move into Earthmoving equipment, as we had synergy with the rest of our business.

ESI put together quite a formidable group in both sales and service. "Our sales plan was originally a conservative twelve to fourteen units, but we're running a pace of more than 50 machines," commented Bebchick. ESI has broken into segments of the market that we never expected to gain. Since 1997 ESI has successfully been augmenting our crushing and screening lines with our fine products like Terex Haul Trucks, Daewoo/Doosan wheel loaders and excavators. We also supply a full line of attachments such as Geith, Esco, Lemac, C/F, Amulet, JRB, Woods, Rockland, Wain-Roy, Paul Weaver, and Sweepster..

Engineering Technologies Group, Inc. – ESI's Subsidiary

ESI's subsidiary, Engineering Technologies Group, Inc. (ETG), is a full service, multi-disciplined engineering firm in its own right headed by Vice President, Denis Roy. ETG performs work on a wide spectrum, from hourly engineering services to fixed-price contracts. It is New England's largest organization for environmental air-permitting for the construction industry. It also provides services such as troubleshooting, remediation, pollution abatement, dust collection and suppression, noise abatement, storm water runoff documentation, stack testing, dispersion models and conceptual studies.

ETG is often called on to evaluate performance at a customer's plant, testing such items as air flow, combustion efficiency, temperatures, air velocity, and fuel consumption. Another service provided by the firm is the optimization of crushing and screening flows at existing and proposed quarry facilitates. Taking advantage of the many years of crushing and screening experience of its staff, and using it sophisticated computers and software, the company can identify bottlenecks, improve productivity and optimize material quality.
